Exploratory and Extracurricular Activities

Another important component of the middle school experience is the exploratory program. Students take two exploratory courses per semester. One of their exploratory classes is offered weekly and the other is offered bi-weekly. Middle school faculty offer exploratory courses that provide hands-on opportunities to expand and develop students' personal interests. These mini-courses have included instrumental ensembles, Spanish, international cooking, drama, digital photography, circus, second-language learning, movie making, Japanese calligraphy, African drumming and fencing. Additional support in curricular subjects is also available at this time.
